In 2005, Sarah Savage of Essence Foods launched a range of high fruit, reduced sugar conserves with natural botanicals, along with a range of marmalades. We were the first company in Norfolk to use lavender in our products along with other botanicals.
In 2019 we had mustard grown for us, the only independent company to achieve this. This was the first time in approximately 140 years that mustard had been grown in Norfolk for an independent food manufacturer and not Colmans. Essence Foods has supplied Waitrose since 2006 and also supply the East of England Co-op with three Essence products and three Montys products.
