It all started back in 2010, in rural Buckinghamshire. Fed up of bulky, ugly and overpriced electric cycles that died after just a few miles, two ordinary brothers set about doing something extraordinary… Creating affordable electric bikes that looked beautiful, and performed even better.
And so Volt was born. We moved from our family garage to our beloved London Bridge showroom and never looked back.
And ever since, it’s been our mission to pair elegant cycle design with boundary-pushing technology – revolutionising the UK’s e-bike scene and changing the game for cyclists.
Design & innovation
We don’t like e-bikes that look too “electric”. We’re all about the advanced biking experience, on a bike that looks and feels like an original cycle. And we’re constantly working to improve our range, setting the pace for what’s possible in ebike design.
When we started out, we searched high and low for the best hardware in the business. OurShimano STEPSrange was one of the first of its kind to hit the UK’s streets. It got rave reviews from Forbes, Tech Radar and CNET (all keen to get in the saddle before anyone else). And it’s still a favourite with our customers today.
Not ones to rest on our laurels, in 2017 we launched our very own e-bike drive system.SpinTech™is one of the most sophisticated, reliable and efficient systems around. We’re not sure we’ve ever been prouder of something we created!
